1 suspect in a mass stabbing in Canada has been found dead, while the other is still missing

Damien Sanderson, one of the suspects in a mass stabbing in Saskatchewan, Canada, that left 10 dead and 18 injured, was discovered dead Monday morning in a heavily grassed area near a house on the James Smith Cree Nation, according to Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner Rhonda Blackmore.

According to Blackmore, Sanderson's injuries were not self-inflicted.

Damien's brother, Myles Sanderson, may be hurt and seek medical attention, Blackmore added. "Even if he is injured, it does not mean he is not still dangerous."

Myles has a lengthy criminal record that includes both person and property offences, according to Blackmore, and she advises the public not to approach him if he is sighted.

Authorities had stated that the suspects were believed to be travelling in a black Nissan Rogue with Saskatchewan licence plate 119 MPI, but it was unclear whether they had changed vehicles. Two people were observed in the vehicle in Regina.
