Many people believe that a loved one's past is irrelevant. But how well do you understand your lover's past?

Surprisingly, there is a dating reality show that examines people's ability to truly comprehend and embrace everything about their loved ones. The new Disney+ reality dating programme 'Pink Lie' brings together a group of men and women looking for true love, but they are only allowed to tell one lie about themselves. They're going to find out if they can meet someone who will love them no matter what by telling one untruth.

1. [+260, -6] For confused people: South Korean "p@rn" isn't the filming of s@x. It's acting. That's what is permitted there.  And this is sad. I hope she does find love. It doesn't matter if you are in SK-type "p@rn" or actual sexual porn, you deserve to find love if you want to.

2. [+197, -9] Women in the west who do OnlyFans often talk about the same thing. It's sad but it is what it is. There are types of men that women don't wanna be involved with, and there are types of women that men don't wanna be involved with. It just sucks that women going into these industries aren't educated on what they're sacrificing.

3. [+183, -13] Sorry girls I know you don't want to hear this but most men don't want a woman who has/had sex with a lot of other guys. Sure men will have sex with her and have a good time but very few are looking at her as a possibility to marry or serious relationship.

4. [+175, -10] This is a big part of why I think people should have to be 21 to work in the sex industry. When you're young you can say 'to hell with what other people think I make my own choices. But you can't understand at that age how a choice like this can affect your future, how stigma can stick to you like a scar.

5. [+137, -18] Idk.. sorry if this sound harsh but what do you expect when you choose those kinds of job in the past. of course, ppl might say we don't know about her life circumstances that make her choose those lines of job etc but still somewhere deep down I don't think it's the right choice. think carefully before doing anything. this is not about others but yourself. so girls, love yourself, respect yourself. no one going to love & respect you more than you do.that kind

6. [+134, -22] Nobody should be harassing anyone for their current or former occupation if it isn't hurting anyone. However, she also shouldn't resort to hiding her past, because that could come back to her and could ruin a potentially good relationship she could have. I respect and empathize with her fears as she's suffered so much from cruel and uncaring individuals. But imagine if she met someone who might be a bit put off but understanding if she told them upfront, only to find out later that she lied by not telling them. The trust would be broken at that point. Obviously, by being on this show and them revealing this, she'll have to tell the person eventually because they'll know. Hopefully, she's starting with this soft introduction, and then will later reveal it if she's able to find a partner. I wish her well in this and hope she can find happiness, there is nothing 'wrong' with her previous occupation and she shouldn't be shamed for it.

7. [+130, -13] As easy as it is to say, but hard to do, she should just embrace her past. The only way for her to move forward is to be like "Yes, I was an adult film actress" rather than trying to hide in the shadows. It's ESPECIALLY difficult in South Korea where you will be looked down on HEAVILY for what you do. Now, I couldn't find much info to ask whether she did porn in South Korea or another country. The reason for that is, in South Korea, you can't have real sex when making adult videos whilst in other countries, it's a normal thing. I hope she learns to embrace her past and be more confident with herself. There is nothing wrong with her choice of work. Also, I'm finding a lot of the comments here really disgusting. Everyone talks about respecting women and respecting sex workers, but the moment one speaks out suddenly people seem to have the most judgemental opinions. I wish her well in the show and hope she finds someone.

8. [+123, -12] I mean I feel bad but going on a dating show and announcing to the world your past passed is not going to help you. Now people are googling trying to find her videos and people that possibly didn’t know who she was or didn’t recognize her now do. Considering how conservative Korean society can be she chose a very hard career to bounce back from. Even if she finds true love I worry her in-laws wouldn’t be except her or his friends would make things weird.  Whether she chose it because she fell on hard times or she wanted fast money, she chose that path and has to deal with the consequences. I hope she finds love (honestly it’s likely not happening on this show) and becomes more comfortable in her life.

9. [+119, -15] People are so judgmental. Who cares that a consenting adult had a past in adult films? And as I understand, Korean "adult films" are not even porn. They are just soft-core films. Is it even legal to produce hard-cord adult entertainment in Korea? It sure is illegal to distribute, sell or display porn in Korea. Hopefully, she'll find someone who is a tolerant person living in the 21st century, so she doesn't have to deal with Middle-Age-minded people anymore.

10. [+156, -12] Everybody deserves to be respected and find happiness in life. That being said, society doesn't owe you understanding. That may be considered unjust or unfair, but such is life. Actions have consequences. Life doesn't reward you for making poor decisions. The best that you can do is be honest with yourself, learn from your mistakes, and accept the outcome.
